Overthinking
Sleep falters,
thoughts gather in the dark
like a thick fog,
each one a silent passenger,
Pulling at threads,
Multiplying-- soft and heavy—
unraveling what once felt settled.
Pillows press beneath, yet the weight drifts above—
words without voices, sounds without form.
They linger, tireless.
I wait for dawn,
for light to break them open,
to lift and dissolve them,
but they settle back
like dust in the quiet,
refusing to go.
Whisperwood
The forest closes like a book,
each tree a word I cannot read.
The path dissolves into moss,
soft and secretive underfoot,
while shadows stretch long fingers
to tangle my thoughts
The trees do not ask,
nor the rivers accuse;
they only carry me forward,
their silence a solace
as I learn to wander,
to trust the song of the unmarked trail.
The Vanishing Lines
I sit, computer poised over the wide-open document,
the first words tumble out like pebbles
breaking the still surface of a thought.
The rhythm gathers—a hesitant heartbeat,
a pulse in keystrokes,
sketched along the shadows of a computer screen.
Halfway through, the thread unravels.
The words scatter into whispers,
lost between memory and atmosphere.
I rummage for them, clawing at the silence,
but the spark retreats,
leaving faint obscurity of what could have been.
The screen stares back,
half alive, half undone,
a ghost of a poem lingering.
just beyond my reach.
I wonder if it lives somewhere else now,
unfinished yet perfect,
in the quiet space where inspiration hides.
Music of Nature
I stood in the shadow of a tree
that grew stars instead of leaves,
its branches humming a song
only the moon could hear.
The Importance of Arts, Culture & The Creative Process
The importance to me is I love to work with other artists and build international friendships. I have worked with many artists around the world, either with my art and their poetry, or I have included the writer's photo in my photography. This is the best way to share, build friendships, have fun and build lasting friendships while learning about each other's cultures.
